Facts, Legends and Myths

The Silvadoo....and Hellmarsh.....where it all began..

Within an enormous egg, stands 'Silvadoo' the tree upholding the world. On the top three branches of Silvadoo hang the Sun, Star and Moon for each of the six continents upheld by the six branches below. Inside the trunk, nourishing the nine roots flow the 'Waters of Circulation', actually delicate web strands spouting from the tail of the black spider inhabiting among the roots of Silvadoo. It is believed that the world tree 'Silvadoo' nourishes on the vital energy and records of the history and fate of all living creatures within each string. 'Airel' a gigantic bird controlling the weather and season, flies among the skies of the egg, turning its' cries into thunder, flaps into wind, tears into rain and changes rain into snow by its' possessed 'Nin'.
The adventures and battles in A3 take place in the harsh lands of 'Hellmarsh' (second continent among the six of Silvadoo) in years 3442 ~ (Helmarsh Calendar).

In the beginning..

Hellmarsh did not always live up to its name. In the 'Golden Age' or the 'Age of Paradise' (~2983 Helmarsh Calendar) it is said that trees would bear fruit without having to cultivate the land or sow the seeds. Winds would carry the seeds, and rivers would cultivate the lands. Humans, spirits and ancient animals roamed the lands of Hellmarsh and lived in harmony. It was the happy times, when every living being would eat, drink, sing, and live a peaceful and contented life. There was no shadow or darkness, and nothing evil scoured the lands.
Then came the 'Silver Age' (2983~3202 Helmarsh Calendar) when a species calling themselves 'God Beings' arrived to the lands. They had mysterious powers, and brought upon times of change. The origin of these beings is unknown, but they called themselves Gods and claimed that they had created humans, spirits, ancient animals and the Helmash continent itself, and have come down to reign directly over them. They were the Prime God Rabellu, Fire God Deneru, Water God Furenil, and Wind God Cater (see Mortals and Gods).
In the year 3000 (Helmarsh Calendar) the Gods announced the reign of the "New Order of Rabellu" and warned the world of punishment shall it be violated. Under the new order these Gods began to put restrictions between the various species and races roaming the lands. Before, humans, spirits and animals associated with each other and would often marry each other. This brought rise to the many halflings -

Spirit + Human = Heiren,
Spirit + Ancient Animal = Heishoo,
Ancient Animal + Human = Shooren.
Mixing of breeds occurred even between Heirens, Heishoos, and Shoorens.

The Gods ordained that no more halflings could be born based on the new Order:
From "New Order of Rabellu", announced in the year 3000 (Hellmarsh Calendar) Article 13: "A member of one race shall not produce offspring with the member of another race, including humans and spirits. Half-breeds shall no longer be tolerated, and existing halflings shall be considered monsters."

After more than 200 years of tyranny, humans began to rebel against the iron rule of the Goddess Rabellu and thus started a period of war and rebellion which has come to be known as the Iron Age (3201~3221 Hellmarsh Calendar). This war was of a scale that was unprecedented since the creation of the world. The head of the rebel army was the legendary king Rubal, who was supported by his Clan of Legendary Knights. Rubal's followers included Kwaon, who was his right arm as well as the greatest warrior of Hellmarsh, the mage Radian, who could see more than meets the eye, Billmade, the paladin who could not bear the weight of his tortured soul, and the wise sage Laisherd, who looked over all these valiant men with the warmth of a father (see Mortals and Gods). Their faith in victory and their unbending will enabled them to endure the long and harsh battle that could only be seen as reckless. The faith and will was what gave meaning to the blood that they had shed. To cope with the spreading menace that called itself the rebel army, the Gods created their own Holy Army to defeat Rubal's army once and for all. The rebels were defeated and the Gods locked up the spirits somewhere in Hellmarsh to prevent further union between the races, and banished the humans to 'Agonyl', the land of sorrow and pain.

The Present...

Episode 1: 'Agonyl- the land of suffering'

Year 3421 (Hellmarsh Calendar): 200 years have passed after the 'War between humans and Gods' when humans had been defeated and the souls of the 'Legendary Knight Clan' had been sealed deep down in the dark. Mysterious warriors began to appear in the beaches of the Kwanato Sea, where no ship has landed before due to severe storms. These people called themselves the Normans, but they themselves did not know how they got here. All they remembered was that they were on a voyage out to the sea. Natives of Agonyl, descendants of the "Legendary Knight Clan" along with these warriors from the other world rise to strike back against the monsters of 'Hellmarsh' to protect their homelands and families. Once again man is on the brink of starting the long and harsh voyage of 'Challenging the Gods.'

Mortals and Gods

RUBAL
The Legendary King

The temple knights, shining in their golden armor, began to draw their swords. The circle of swords began closing in on the people. The young chief Eserik stood out and began to plead. "Goddess Rabellu, this is about my child and me. Please leave the other townspeople alone..." "No, chief. Rubal is the child of the village. Please my goddess, may the child live." "Ha! You're your life for your child? How pitiful. Kill them. Kill them all! This is the punishment to the silly humans who would dare break the order of God..." The cold smile of the prime god Rabellu radiated a cold breeze around her. In the bright daylight, shining swords began to hack and slash. If it weren't for the screams of the falling people, it might have looked like a dance of the light spirits. The silver swords and the golden knights were dyed with the awful red of blood in a short time. The knights closed in on the group of people and slaughtered them. The young woman at the center of the circle hugged the child in her arms, as if to protect him. "Please, my goddess... Have pity on us..."The young mother's cries made no difference. The sword came down on her.
Rubal was drenched with sweat when he suddenly woke up. He looked around him, as if to find something. It was already night. He had returned to his home after 6 months. Kwaon was sleeping on the rocking chair in the corner of the room. Rubal has been dreaming the same nightmare for almost a week now. He is now afraid to go to sleep, as he can almost see the scene just by closing his eyes. Rubal clenched his fist, and blood began to flow from it. "I'll kill you all. Just as you have done to me..."

* Year 3198 Helmash Calendar. 19-year old Rubal had disappeared while on a training journey in Bemerden. After returning to his home after 6 months, he vows revenge on the Gods.

Rubal was a Heiren (half-breed of a spirit and human) - a halfling born between Syllia, the spirit of wind, and Eserik III, the Eserik chief of Heisend. His family and townspeople were slaughtered because he was a Heiren forbidden by the New Order of Rabellu. He was the only survivor who survived thanks to the help of Laisherd-the wise sage, a friend of his mother's, and Cater, the God of Compassion. Laisherd fled with Rubal to Agonyl and entrusted him to the Wolfrech family where Rubal met Kwaon and befriended him. Rubal spent his youth in Agonyl till the age of 19, when by accident he recovered his memory of the past, and in order to wreak revenge on the Gods, he began to soak the continent of Hellmarsh with blood.
Rubal was a man of courage, challenging the absolute power of the Gods - the murderers responsible for the death of his family. He had the courage to challenge fate itself was indeed a legendary king. His mastery in blades was only second to Kwaon who is the best blademaster in the continent of Hellmarsh. However, as he went through many battles, his need for revenge began to merge with ambition and he began to crave for power; his character became stained and dark.

KWAON
First Knight of the Legendary Knights

Kwaon was a natural warrior born in the warrior land of Agonyl, coming from the Wolfrech family of warriors. His long and harsh journey began when he met Rubal, a small boy who looked up to him with beautiful eyes, holding the hand of the old sage, Laisherd. In the ranks of Rubal's army, he was Rubal's right arm, and the first knight of the legendary knights. He was also the commander of the first calvary in Rubal's rebel army.
Although quiet in nature, he was kind and warm to those he knew. He was a truly honorable man who valued friendship, trust and honor above all. As the best of an old family of warriors, his skills with the blade were the best in Hellmarsh. He learned the way of the sword before he even began learning to walk. His blade was an army in itself and played an important role in the battle each time. When he was young, he looked after Rubal as if he was his real brother, and as an adult, he pledged loyalty to the Rubal and gave him all his trust.

REDYAN
The Most Powerful Mage in Hellmarsh

The night was cold. Redyan was crouched in a corner, shivering with cold. She was confused. Never in her life had she done anything wrong, yet the children mocked her and call her the 'cursed child.' Her face was a mix of tears and the blood from her forehead. Her forehead was a mess from the stones that the children had thrown at her. Redyan managed to finally cry herself to sleep, but woke up suddenly on hearing the noise .It was the town children she had been running from all day. Redyan was overcome with hurt and pain and she thought "I hate you all. I hate this town, everything around me. I wish they would all disappear. Everything...!" At that moment, Redyan passed out, and a fiery red aura burst from her body. The children were surprised, and backed off. The aura grew bigger, and engulfed Redyan's body. Then, something began to fall from the sky. They were fiery meteors. Each time a meteor struck the ground, the area lit up with fire. The living fire began to spread and swept away all living things and the town in its wake.

* Year 3184 Hellmarsh Calendar 5-year old Redyan emits unknown magic while being bullied by the town children. Leaving the Sivab of Hatrel in ashes, she was banished from the town forever.

"That child ... ...?" "Yes, my master. She cannot see. The young one was living in the forests by herself." Billmade looked at the little girl who was examining the flowers that were on the flower bed of the Great Wizard Lardsbid's house. "She saved my life, and I don't want to leave her alone in the dangerous forest... So, I would like to ask you a favor, sir... I don't know if you'll believe me, but that girl can distinguish herbs even though she cannot see. If that ability could be any help... No, even if she isn't of any help to you, she will be able to run some errands for you. I'm sorry, but I cannot take her around..." Lardsbid kept watching the little girl's movements without saying a word. "Sir... I am always asking favors of you..." "No, not at all. This isn't a favor at all.

You've just introduced a good friend for a lonely old man. Ho ho. So, how long are you going to keep living like this?" Billmade drank the tea that was in front of him in one gulp and stood up. A bitter smile flashed on his face. He wished that he could have just died there. Only if that girl hadn't saved him... "I should be leaving now. Hey, little girl... Listen to this old man well, OK?" The girl approached Billmade without any sign of groping. Billmade kneeled down to the girl's eye level. The girl spoke nothing, just as she had when they had first met. "I must go now. The place I'm going is too far, and the way is too dangerous, and I cannot take you with me. Your name... It was Redyan right? I'll see you again, Redyan! "

* Year 3194 Helmarsh Calendar. Hatrel. Great Wizard Lardsbid, a friend of Billmade's father gives shelter to the blind girl Redyan on the request from Billmade.

Redyan was from the mysterious land of Hatrel, a land surrounded by magic. In her mother's womb, she was deemed as the 'cursed child" who will not only kill her own mother but tens of thousands of people' by Deneroo, the area god of Hatrel. Faithful to the prophecy, her mother died giving birth to her, and Redyan grew as the child of her aunt. One day, as she was teased by the town children because of her blindness, her anger burst out as a fiery blaze. The whole town burned down due to the powerful blaze, and she was banished from the town. While hiding in the forests and living in pity, she became an apprentice to the grand mage, Lardsbid, thanks to the help of Billmade.

Although the most powerful mage in Hellmarsh, she barely smiled. People said this was because of her unhappy childhood. She was a lady of few words, but when she spoke, she spoke with the inner voice of the hearer. Because she was blind, her other senses were very keen, and she had developed the ability to read what she could not see. As the holder of the eye that could see every natural and unnatural movement, she lived for only one purpose. She had put everything on the line for that reason. Even her life...

BILLMADE
The Fastest Blade

Billmade came from a family of temple knights. He was the second son of Cid, the knight temple of Heysend. All of Billmade's brothers dreamt of becoming a temple knight, but he did not value such things. At least not until the day he saw the primary god Rabellu at the commissioning of his brother. He fell in love with Rabellu at first glance and applied to become a temple knight as well and was soon commissioned with honors. Before his commission, Rabellu had promised her undying love but on the day of his commission he realized that this was all a lie and was all a cruel trick played on him by Rabellu and the Rain God Puleinyl. Feeling betrayed and hurt, he left to wander the lands. During his journey, he met and joined Rubal's legendary knights, who were preparing to wage war on the Gods and seek their revenge.
Billmade was an unbiased man and his judgment on people and their character was unfailing. His speed with the sword surpassed even that of the first knight Kwaon. It was easy to be fooled by his looks and lighthearted behavior. However, in battle, one realized why he was notorious as "Kill Bill". His sword was deadly and true, and as lethal as the venom of a viper.

So as you can see, the game has a pretty decent backstory.

And now a more detailed guide of what was put on here before the backstory.

A review.

Posted by Jaller333 Jun. 28, 2009 @ 3:50 PM EDT

I've decided to review games and movies. Just deal.

The game I've decided to review is a medieval MMORPG called: 2Moons.

This is the plot: They called it the Corruption; those charged with the telling of the story. When the two moons aligned, the exiled king, Rictus, bid his magician open the gate and unleash the pestilence of the Pitborn and their dark ruler Abaddon upon Haran, The Immortal Land. In his hubris, Rictus thought he might control them, that he might herald his conquering of Haran on the crest of a black wave of the accursed. But there could be no alliance with Abaddon, the lord of the pit whose blessing is pain, whose enchantment is the wage of sorrow. He bound Rictus in the darkness of the abyss and every time a man fell to claw, tooth or blade, every time a woman or child burned to black flesh, choked to blue or starved to sallow skin, Rictus died their death and lived to die again. This for all eternity, for such was the will of Abaddon.

The Pitborn flooded Haran, the wake of their butchery staining crimson the once proud soil of The Immortal Land. Mankind teetered on the brink of annihilation. In the depth of his sorrow, overwhelmed by hopelessness, their king, Tirus The Grim, succumbed to death by his own hand.

Thence came Trieste, The White Lady - prophet, magician, warrior, godchild, queen of frozen Haiharp. She bound together those with strength left to resist. To her aid came the dark magic of The Summoners, the power of The Incar, the blades of The Azure Order, the lethal arrows of The Segita, the brute strength of The Bagi, and the blessed touch of The Segnale. They made war then, blanketing the land with the hewed limbs of Pitborn. Their valor knew no equal, but their numbers were too few. The minions of Abaddon poured forth from the gate where they had waited for countless unhallowed centuries and their bloodlust could not be slaked. Despite their courage, the forces of Haran would fall.

It was then that Trieste left in secret. To the gate she went, and slew there those who guarded its gaping maw. And there did she die, sealing shut the gate with her own lifesblood. Abaddon was drawn screaming back into the abyss and the children of Trieste prevailed.

Centuries have passed and the enchantment of The White Lady has worn thin as she prophesied. The gate has cracked open and the Pitborn once again plague Haran. There is no safe passage and of the once proud cities only Loa and Braiken remain. Yet, there is hope. The people of The Immortal Land resist. With bolt and blade, with conjured flame and summoned might they combat the minions of Abaddon. For it is said Trieste will return when once again the twin moons align. Until then, only the law of the sword remains: "No mercy for the weak, no pity for the dying, no tears for the slain!"

[edit] Haran
The 2Moons world is entitled "Haran." It is composed of many different lands, each infested by different Pitborn.

Loa Castle: One of the only two remaining strongholds. Loa, once a bustling trade city, has become a fortress in which the survivors of the Corruption seek asylum. The residents of Loa are known to hate the residents of Braiken. In the game, Loa is one of the two starting areas. It is also a safe zone.
Braiken Castle: One of the only two remaining strongholds. Braiken, a long abandoned castle, has become a fortress in which the survivors of the Corruption seek asylum. In the game, Braiken is one of the two starting areas. It is also a safe zone.
North Morte: A proving ground for new recruits and warriors of all types, this place is the first taste of real danger many will see before venturing out into the wide world of Haran.
North Ares: Just as North Morte is, North Ares was tailored specifically to aid those seeking to live a life of battle. Here, inherent skills are polished and new skills are learned.
Denebe: A swampland inhabited by all manner of Pitborn beasts. Only a small outpost of Haranians remain in this dank place. Squalid as it might be, it is a crossroads to many realms.
Den of Norak: Here once lived The Boneweavers, devout followers of Abaddon. They built this place to channel dark energies and summon unholy entities to do the bidding of The Abyss. Norak translates roughly as "the way of the damned."
Castor Cave: The first stronghold built by Abaddon's hordes many centuries ago. It remained completely undetected until its construction was nearly complete. By then, it was too late. Despite innumerable attempts to clear it out, it has always been rife with Pitborn.
Heiharp: The kingdom of Trieste, The White Lady. She chose this frozen place to rule after The Old Ones abandoned Haran. Parca Temple, her seat of power, rests in northern Heiharp. Many battles were fought here, and the enemies of Haran still prowl here in Trieste's absence.
Draco Desert: The great desert was not always such a desolate waste. Before The Battle of A Thousand Magicians razed all life in it to dust, it was a vast garden, the green jewel of Haran. A few oases remain, shadows of what once was.In the southwest corner lies Python Castle, a haunted and forbidding prison.
Requies: Resting on the edge of the Pederan Ocean, Requies was the ancestral home of a savage people that were routed by The Segnale when they fled The Abyss. Rumors abound that The Segnale have underground tunnels throughout Requies, but no such thing has been proven. A great and powerful evil is held here that none have ever seen and lived to tell of.
Avalon Isle: The Isle of The Dead, Avalon houses the souls of all The White Blades who have died in battle. An ancient power holds sway in the center of the island. What it is, none can say, but not Trieste ventured there.
Crespo: The coldest place in Haran, and home to a rift between worlds that The Augur did not (or will not) close. Though the rift is dormant, monstrous Pitborn dwell here, trying always to call forth their brethren from The Abyss.
The Frozen Valley of Vengeance: Here lives The Saint of Blades and what remains of his followers, The White Blades. It was in this place that he was abandoned by all the peoples of Haran in the final battle against Abaddon and his dread army. Called simply Revenge by those who know this unforgiving place, a strange power fills the hearts of all who pass through with a thirst for vengeance.
Parca Temple: Trieste's seat of power. Before she left this world, she imprisoned some of the most powerful of Abaddon's servants here. It is a center for worship and healing, but also a place of ancient knowledge.
Python Castle: Once the stronghold of Baphomet, The Black Mage, it is now his prison. Dread creatures dwell here, devouring all those who might attempt to free him. Only by traversing The Draco can anyone come to this place, and only the very powerful will be granted entrance.
Oread's Tomb: Little is known of this place. A path to it is rumored to exist inside Python Castle. If the rumor is true, none live to confirm it.
Doomed Maze: Is only rumored to exist. If it does, it is the dwelling of the Bagi mutants, the corrupted Cetus Warriors. It is also rumored to be the home of Illipia, the fierce dragon of hatred. A gate to hell is said to exist in the Doomed Maze.
Aquarius: The Corruption spread underwater, mutating millions of sea creatures into beasts of unparalleled power. Those who cast a fishing line almost never live to tell the tale.
Acquirai Ruins: Long ago abandoned, the ruins are now inhabited by beasts of the like Haran has never seen.
Space of Pilgrimage: Those who wish to have a direct conference with Helion, the God of the Sun, must pass through the now corrupted Space of Pilgrimage. Haunted by the spirits of the Great Races, no stories of survivors have ever surfaced.

[edit] The History of Haran
Of the birth of Haran, many things are said. The Bagi say it was Barak, God of Battle who created the world so that he might populate it with creatures to war with one another and so honor him. The Incar say it was Karenas, The World-Bearer who thought Haran into being. This even though Trieste herself did not know how the world came to be. It did not matter, she said. What mattered was that there was Haran and there was The Abyss. One was a world of light, and the other, a dimension of darkness.

Always it is this way. In all realities, in all universes, in all beings there is that which devours and that which grows. When the world was young and unstable, wracked with earthquakes, pocked with volcanoes spewing ash and lava into the sky, drowned with constant floods, there was still life. There was no creature then to name them, but those who came after called them dragons. They ruled the water, the land, the sky - no beast could stand against them. And it was this that proved to be their downfall. The dragons multiplied unimpeded for countless centuries, each breed at war with the others until the conflict built to a war that encompassed the globe. A hundred years passed that saw the face of Haran scorched, the soil befouled, the water tainted with the blood the countless dead until only a scarce few remained.

Helion, high voice of The Old Ones, was the first to sense it - a breach, a footstep of darkness on the soil of light. Those responsible for creating a door between Haran and The Abyss were already dead, consumed by the power they sought to wield. The Old Ones sealed the gap between the two worlds, but the damage was done. Abaddon, Lord of The Abyss, had seen the world of light. Had seen it and hated it as his black heart had hated no other thing in existence. All The Abyss was under his dominion, and now that he'd seen there was more - more beings to devour and dominate, more souls to corrupt - he would stop at nothing to have it. And so it began, what Trieste called The Unending War.

Pitborn, the denizens of The Abyss, came to Haran by way of dark magics. Such arts had been honed in The Abyss for countless unhallowed centuries and now that the creatures who wielded such power were aware of fresh blood and tender flesh just beyond the veil of their world, they turned their sorcery to the task. The people of Haran were strong then, schooled by The Old Ones in the ways of magic and battle. Despite their knowledge and skill, the numbers of Pitborn soon grew beyond their capacity to cope with. Though they would teach, The Old Ones would not use their power to kill the creatures swarming over Haran. Only Trieste, daughter of Helion, protested The Old Ones' indifference. But she was bound by the will of her people and there was naught she could do.

In Heiharp, there opened a gateway to The Abyss higher and wider than the walls of the ancient cities, and beyond there came an army twisted and dark, of forms vast and vile... and leading them, Abaddon, destroyer of worlds. This would have been the end of Haran, but there are other forces in the universe besides light and darkness. As Abaddon stepped through the rift, a shimmer wall of energy appeared, stopping him and his army. It was then that The Augur revealed themselves. They are the keepers of The Balance and have no allegiance to light or darkness, good or evil - their only duty is to maintain The Balance. So many portals between the two realms had been opened that the fabric of reality itself was in danger. And this new and largest tear in space was more than The Augur could allow. They closed all gateways between the two worlds and sent Abaddon and his minions back to The Abyss.

To prevent such a thing from happening again, they decreed that only one gateway would be allowed between the two worlds, and many stayed behind to enforce their will. They remain, teleporting Pitborn and Haranian alike through what they call The Shifting Place. This one gateway, The Black Door, may hold one of three positions: closed, open to The Abyss, open to Haran. It permits a flow one way or the other, or not at all. Nevertheless, there was still some traffic between the worlds. The Summoners would not relinquish their dark arts, despite the pleading of The Incar. The Bagi were infected by an Abysmal virus that corrupted their bloodline for all time. The Segnale, Pitborn themselves, defected and were permitted passage en masse by The Augur.

The Haranians did not forget the indifference of The Old Ones in their hour of need. They turned their backs and hearts on The Old Ones. The only god to ever appear to those who worshiped him, challenged The Old Ones openly. His name was The Saint of Blades and he was a match for any of them. Only to the beauty of Trieste did he acquiesce. Helion called a council of The Old Ones and they decided that this world had seen enough use of them; they would go elsewhere and aid some other fledgling civilization. The White Lady would not leave; Trieste would not abandon her people. She had seen a coming doom. The Black Door would swing wide and the armies of The Abyss would issue forth as though a river. The Old Ones left without farewell or fanfare. one day, they were simply gone.

For fifty years, the peoples of Haran prepared for war. The Azure Order honed their bladecraft; The Incar steeped themselves in the study and practice of magic; The Summoners delved ever more deep into their black arts; The Segita harnessed the power of Haran through the tips of their arrows; The Bagi called to the far recesses of themselves for strength and pushed their twisted bodies to unknown limits; And The Segnale, the blood drinkers, assassins of The Abyss, even they gave the sternest blood of their Pitborn hearts to the ways of healing and murder.

All these long years, the most powerful of The Incar had focused the whole of their energies on holding. The Black Door shut. It was the treachery of the exiled king, Rictus, and his sorcerer, Baphomet, that undid the spells binding the door. It swung wide and the Pitborn poured through. Trieste and The Saint of Blades had developed a strategy with forces stationed throughout the land in an attempt to compensate for their inferior numbers. Though the peoples of Haran fought well and bravely, it was a futile effort and Trieste had always known that it would be. When all of the forces of each race were pushed to the frozen wastes for a final confrontation with Abaddon and his forces, Trieste disappeared. Seeing this, the others fled - all but The Saint of Blades and his followers, The White Blades. They fought to the last and The Saint of Blades, though he could not die, was beaten into a supernatural sleep by Abaddon himself.

Trieste had not fled in fear; she left in secret to seal shut the gate with an act of self-sacrifice that honored all who had died in battle. With her own heartsblood, she sealed shut the gate and the creatures of The Abyss were sent back to their foul realm. So has it been for centuries, Haran on one side of the door, The Abyss on the other. Trieste is gone, much of the old lore is lost, the peoples of Haran are scattered and few, and now, the door opens again.

Gameplay
In 2Moons, players control a single character, and move around a three-dimensional world, completing quests and defeating fiends (which may either be monsters, known in 2Moons as the Pitborn, or other players) to gain experience and become more powerful. In terms of player and player interaction, there is also a PVP option, and sometimes a PK (player killing) option outside safety zones.

Classes
When creating a character, players select one of six (soon to be seven) classes. Each class offers various benefits and drawbacks, as well as access to different weapons, abilities, and skill trees. Unlike several other MMORPGs, there exist no races; the only character differentiation is through class. Once selected, character classes are permanent.

Azure Knight: Also known as "AK" focus on traditional melee combat and offensive self-buffs. Knights can choose to either use single-handed axes, single-handed maces, single-handed swords, shields, two-handed maces, two-handed axes, or two-handed swords; or they can choose two single-hand weapons to become a 'dual weapon' knight. The Azure Knight is male.
Segnale: Segnale, a humanoid race, wield whips of various forms and have range of effect spells - most of them curse based- including buffs to weaken enemies and party buffs. They function primarily as healers yet they provide impressive combat skill when at a high level. The segnale is one of the female classes.
Incar Magician: Magicians focus on 'traditional' offensive spells with a great variety of ranges (many of the mid-long range), with many of them having affinities to natural elements. They use either staffs- which could be shared with Vicious Summoners or wands. The Incar is one of the female classes.
Segita Hunter: Hunters are an archer class, specializing in both long-range combat and close-quarters combat. They can use crossbows, bows (for long-range), and daggers (for close-range). The Segita is female.
Vicious Summoner: Also known as "summoner", Summoners have the ability to summon creatures (Either Beast or Libido class) to aid them. Summoners may specialize in either wielding staffs or twin blades- both weapons holding a different set of uses and attacks, and serve well in mobbing since their summons auto-aggro monsters as well- resulting in twice the amount of monsters to kill. Summoners are male.
Bagi Warrior: Bagi Warriors function primarily as "tank" characters, and specialize in the use of self-buffs and various combos. They use gauntlets. They are male characters.
Aloken: The Aloken are a new class set to release in Q2 2009, and are to function as combo-based characters. They also use different self/party buffs. They use spears.

Mount system
Upon reaching Level 35, players may buy and use mount tokens, which give the player access to a mount for one day's time, 15 day's time, or 30 day's time. Mounts offer no benefits other than increasing a character's movement speed by 32%. Players may not use abilities while on a mount, and any buffs that were previously on the player are discontinued when that player mounts. Prices for mounts are described as extremely expensive, particularly given that mounts are rented for one, fifteen, or thirty day durations. In addition, the game's exportations system provides cheaper and faster transportation (though only between major areas).

Acclaim has recently introduced a system whereby mounts may be permanently purchased from the Acclaim Shop for some Acclaim Coins. Additionally, a new feature was added which allows players to obtain and trade 10 Piuma Feathers to an NPC in one area of the game in order to obtain a special mount named Aquira.

List of all mounts:

Dead Front
The Dead Front, which was released with Action 2, is a 24-player raid on a large castle, which is ruled by Oppucus and his serpent minions. Multiple Dead Fronts are held daily, though the number and times range based on player location. There are 6 levels of Dead Front: Rabble (Levels 21-45), Common (Levels 46-70), Baron (Levels 71-90), Earl (Levels 91-110), Duke (Levels 111-130), and Arc (Level 131+). Using the pre-existing party function, players form six-person groups (called parties) and apply for entrance into the appropriate Dead Front for their level. The Dead Front is accessed via the Chain of Fire, which is located in North Ares. In order to apply for the Dead Front, players must have a map of their Dead Front (i.e. Baron Map), which can be obtained by trading 20 vouchers to Tes, an NPC in Braiken Castle. If anyone in the party has no map or is not of the appropriate level, the party will be unable to apply for entrance. Of the parties that apply, four will be selected. The four parties will then speak with their Dead Front's NPC, who will teleport them into the Dead Front preparation area. This area will remain sealed for two minutes before the Dead Front begins. Each party will then receive a designated team color (either Blue, Yellow, Orange, or Purple). Each party begins in its own stretch of land, which cannot be accessed by the other parties, and must fight their way through three waves of Dead Front-specific Pitborn in order to access the convening stage, in which all four parties will convene and continue the Dead Front together. After defeating the first boss (Las Alhage), the players will continue fighting together until the final boss, Oppucus. After Oppucus has fallen, the parties will then enter the final stage, a Four-Way Party PvP. Once one team has won this stage, the overall Dead Front winner is proclaimed, and additional experience is distributed.

Important Notes
The Dead Front Winner is determined by the number of points each team earns. The total number of possible points is 23. Points are earned by capturing any of the three Supply Depots, dealing the most damage to Las Alhage, dealing the most damage to Oppucus, and winning the final PvP stage.
The total time for Dead Front is 30 minutes.
In order to access the fight against Oppucus, players must first decipher four slates (which are defended by the Magimata, a powerful Pitborn) and then read an ancient book which rests on a pedestal near the entrance to Oppucus's Sanctuary.
In the stage where players encounter the first post-Alhage mob, there are two side paths, each of which leads to an armory. Players who raid these armories (which are defended by various serpent Pitborn) can find large amounts of DIL.
Due to a glitch, a function called "mini-experience" exists; if a player dies during Dead Front, and is not revived/does not respawn, they will still receive full experience from the deaths of Las Alhage and Oppucus.

Communication
The game features an integrated shoutbox- in which a player's message is displayed to the public on the same map, a local-range chat box (which features recorded chat within a certain radius), and chat boxes specifically for guild members and party members. There is also the "whisper" option, and a private message system.

Quests
As with almost any RPG, quests are available to players once they have reached a given required level. These quests differ in nature, ranging from running between NPCs to deliver either information or items to more difficult tasks of killing a specific number of monsters. Certain quests are unique to each class, and so rewards may differ between classes. 2Moons features a Quest Log that automatically keeps track of both completed and unfinished quests for easy reference. Certain Quests, (called Commission Quests), may be obtained from the Commission Center in Parca Temple, Draco Desert, Tomb of the Black Dragon or the Space of Pilgrimage, and they grant Adventure Points to players and a random reward, which may be donated to guilds for various rewards.

Support
2Moons has a multi-layered support system, with GM's (Game Masters), VGMs (Volunteer Game Masters), and moderators. Each group is targeted at regulating different portions of the game. More explicit technical support is available on the 2Moons forums or in-game by simply asking a marked support member.

Events
Game Masters often enact various player-driven events for the community. They are usually scheduled and posted on the forums well in advance to allow players to attend.

Aside from special events, occasionally scheduled Double Experience events occur on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays. Sometimes there are even 5x Experience events, but not nearly as often. Double Experience events used to be every weekend, but now it's any time Acclaim feels that they can afford to.

Combat
2Moons has a fairly unique combat system that allows you to continually attack your opponent without getting attacked back thanks to a stun delay after every hit. Certain monsters that are at a higher level than you don't get stunned by basic attacks and my require the use of skills in combat. The combat is also much bloodier and gorier than other popular MMORPG's.As players level up the skills become more powerful and flashier

Player versus Player"PvP"
Players can duel one another with consent in any area. The victor of a duel earns PvP points; however, there is currently no known use for the points. A player defeated in a duel reincarnates on the spot with minimal health and mana.

Fights without consent (player killing(PK)) can only be performed in areas outside a safety zone. In such cases, players enter a battle status, during which the names of the fighting players turn purple. In this mode, players do not gain PvP points through victory. The victor of a non-consensual fight may gain PK and Inclination Points (IP), if the attacked player did not fight back. In such a case, the player enters a "niete" mode and the player's name turns red. However, if the attacked player fights back, the attacker will not gain IP or PK points. The defeated player, when killed, must respawn from a set return point. Inclination Points decrease over time or when being killed. Players with IP can be attacked and killed outside safety zones without consequences for the attacker. Furthermore, they may not use shops or the teleportation system, will be sent to jail if they have collected over 500 IP and get killed, and may be attacked by NPC guards. When in jail, time may be paid off with bribes.

2Moons includes a 'Attack' system, which can only be utilized in Player Versus Player combat. The shield activates only against an attack launched by another player, and it acts as additional protection and regenerates steadily after combat. Its strength is based on the armour rating, health, and level of the player. The shield prevents quick killing of weakened players, giving them a chance to run away from battle.

In select maps (except maps with easy monsters for new players or towns) a Player Killing (also known as pk) option is also there. A player may attack another player at anytime without consent. Many times, when attacked, the victim will fight back. However, if the victim does not fight back and is killed by the attacker, then the attacker will gain PK points. The attacker will also have their name in red, meaning they can be attacked freely and killed without consequence. PK points will be reduced over time or by dying. Players with enough PK will be attacked by guards (NPCs) in cities (Loa or Braiken Castle). The guards are nearly impossible to outrun and cannot be killed. When the player dies, they are thrown in jail and can either serve the time or pay a fee.

Experience
Experience points earned in battle vary depending on the level of the monster and the level of the player. The first attack on the monster determines who "owns" the monster; unless the first attacker is in a party with other players, whoever attacks first gains the experience and drop rights. Monsters which are five levels or more than the player's level have a display name in red; monsters which are very low in level when compared to the player have a display name in green; monsters that are very close to (or at) the players level have a display name in white. Experience gained from slaying monsters outside of a player's level is modified based on the level difference. Also, Acclaim has put in an advertisement system, which gives the player a 10% experience bonus if it is turned on.

There are currently no penalties for player death with the exception of a 15 second respawn delay. Thus, a player can die without fear of losing experience and items. But he/she will respawn at the set return point.

Major Expansion Packs
Since the release of 2Moons, Acclaim has issued two major expansions: Bad Moons Rising and Expedition. The Bad Moons Rising Expansion added multiple new areas, dungeons, bosses, quests, skills, and items to the game. Most of these are for higher level players [1]. The second expansion, Expedition, added a new feature to the game, allowing players to form a massive party, or Expedition Force, of 12 through 18 players to launch an attack on Karon's Transport Ship, an instance dungeon in which there are many new items and monsters, as well as a new boss, to find. Additionally, the new map Kerubim's Nest was added [2]. The expansion Bad Moons Rising required only a standard start-up update; however, the Expedition expansion required an entire new client download, making the previous non-Expedition client obsolete.

Action Series
2Moons is updated by Acclaim using a series of "actions." Each action contains new updates, including things like glitch fixes, improved abilities (or completely revamped abilities), new armor/weapons, monsters, classes, etc. To date, there have been four "actions," with two scheduled for release. Actions are based on the Korean version of Dekaron, and are not all in order in 2Moons [3].

Action 1 (nameless) Siege Battle was introduced. This was released after Action 2 in 2Moons.
Action 2 (Dead Front) Released a few months after open beta. Introduced Dead front, several skills, and much more. Required a new client.
Action 3 (Bad Moons Rising) Released a while after the second action. Updated high level maps such as Acquirai Ruins and the Space of Pilgrimage. Also introduced new weapons and armor.
Action 4 (Expedition) Released a few months after the third action, and introduced Expedition and Nest of Kerubim.
Future Releases

Action 5 (She is Aloken) To be released Q2 2009, will include the new Aloken class and new abilities.
Action 6 (Good Day to Die) To be released in 2010 or 2011, will include the "Demon Transformations," new skills, items, armor, weapons, and a new map entitled " The Deadlands".

[edit] License restrictions
Due to license issues registration is limited to the United States and Canada. Accounts created before December 3 2007 may continue playing even if its owner is located outside the before mentioned regions. (Hong Kong, China and Taiwan are banned regardless of registration date). Blocking is done based on the IP of the account holder.

So, since it's a free game, you don't have to pay. So, if you like medieval dudes killing each other and LOTS of blood, get the game.

Okay so I can't get my Darth Yoda picture to upload. ARGH. Oh well, in other news: I have things to say. I've always wondered this but..why IS Egoraptor so popular? I mean, he only had like two REALLY good hits. Metal Gear Awesome 1 and 2. The rest were funny but not as much as those. And they were made about...I think six years ago? I mean, don't get me wrong Egoraptor is FUNNY, but I just think it's wierd that he's STILL popular after all this time. Let alone his newer releases. Seriously though, all of his work is funny, no doubt about it. He's a comedic genius, I dunno I guess that just puzzled me because, after MGA1 & 2 his stuff kinda quieted down and now he's returned with Awesome Cracks Down, which is funny too, even though some people don't think so. I dunno. But uh...leave your thoughts about this subject. (I come on here too much. I hate insomnia)

P.S (I AM a fan of Egoraptor and am in no way burning him. I just think it's wierd that's he's still this popular after all this time)

Uhhh...NewGrounds is better than Youtube. At least Tom Fulp allows people to speak their mind and make things about anything WITH anything. Not like Youtube. Every little thing that apparently isn't "authorized" by the WMG is muted or deleted. Of course..the WMG doesn't have control over every single song and band. Some things are from Fox. And how do you know if Fox or even WMG cares if you use their music in a video? That's right..you don't. So, basically, Youtube is a pile of crap, it says "Broadcast Yourself" which means, do whatever you with what whatever you want. But, you can't do that if Youtube keeps deleting or muting videos. It's utter bull crap. Youtube has failed me, and NG has suprised me to no end with it's phenominal use of KEEPING IT'S MOTTO. Not like Youtube, which lied. At least Tom Fulp keeps his motto and doesn't fool around with it and delete videos that really are authorzed to use music or WHATEVER.
